History
Come with us on a journey through ttc festival history. Find out what we experience behind the scenes and how the festival has developed from a very small competition for our own club staff to one of the biggest pole vaulting events in the world.
2024
We step on the gas!
In 2024, we want to establish our festival on the international stage with the World Continental Tour Challenger Meeting status. It is also the first 3-day festival with 3 systems. So we have a new record number of possible starting places of currently 256.
We have been working since September to make the event an unforgettable festival and the biggest in the festival’s history.
See you in our Festival Arena from May 31,
Your ttc team
2023
Small but big!
Unfortunately, we didn’t get it big this year. We wanted to make it a Challenger Meeting and couldn’t find any sponsors. In the end, however, we did offer something new: a third pole vault facility.
This meant that 2023 was only a short festival on one day, but with a total of 3 venues and was therefore another important step towards becoming the largest event of its kind in Europe.
2022
3 days of festival atmosphere
Everyone always says that athletics events shouldn’t be so long. Neither in one day nor over several days. We deliberately bucked this trend of ever shorter, faster experiences and made the festival 3 days long for the first time in 2022. There was a new record number of participants with over 160 starters on two courses.
And after the difficult corona period, a clear sign that athletics events are still going strong, even in the youth sector. This is still very important to us and especially after the difficult Corona period, especially for the youngsters, we want to set an example here that there can not only be great events for the pros, but that at least as much heart and soul but also money should be put into competitions for the second row and the Younstars.
2021
Restart after Corona
We are finally allowed to hold events on a larger scale again. Restarting after a complete shutdown in 2020 is not easy. We have to recruit the helpers again, processes have to be re-established and we are not international in 2021.
Nevertheless, a total of 97 athletes from all over Germany took part in the event and improved 4 records in TTC history, especially in the female category.
2020
Touch the Clouds in lockdown
Nothing works anymore. We are in lockdown and have time to make our facility beautiful. But to quote Arni: “We will be back!”
2019
Back at the start with a new team
What a restart after a year’s break and a breather. 134 starts over two days and on two pole vault facilities are cause for celebration.
The new festival team has formed and shown that we can do big things again in Gräfelfing. There was also a new pole vault mat – our Black Mamba will now bring our athletes safely back down to earth.
2018
Upheaval all along the line
What a preparation. The athletics department was completely reorganized in 2017. The Capeller era has come to an end and with it a new wind is blowing in the department board.
Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to start planning the festival in time and had to cancel it with a heavy heart. But we are using the time quietly and working behind the scenes on a new festival team and will organize great events for the pole vault again in the future. You can look forward to seeing what comes next.
