It’s still pouring: But there is a (tiny) hope of a dry spell on Sunday – and that would then be the chance for the best to compete outside in the recently deserted wide ttc stadium. “We are prepared for everything,” says Matthias Schimmelpfennig. The schedule was adjusted today to accommodate all eventualities. It starts at 10:00 a.m. indoor men, athletes with personal bests of 4.35 to 5.35 meters will start. If possible, the White Hopper will be activated at the same time at 10:00 a.m. outdoors. Athletes with PBs of 2.41 to 3.40 meters will start here. “If the rain spoils our plans, we will postpone the competition a long way,” says Matthias. At 1:00 p.m., athletes with PBs of 3.50 to 4.20 meters will start outdoors at the White Hopper (again with the option to postpone). The top women’s field (which will be supplemented by Jakob Zimmer, Ben Bichsel and Adrian Kübler) is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. on the Black Mamba. If that is not possible due to rain, the competition will move indoors, but then only with a 36m run-up. The top men’s field will start outside at 4:00 p.m. on the Black Mamba if possible, with the option of indoors. “Everyone is excited and looking forward to the 2024 ttc highlight,” says Matthias Schimmelpfennig. Whether indoors or outdoors. And let’s be honest: if you didn’t feel the atmosphere on site yourself, you really missed something. An incredible weekend is heading towards its ultimate climax.
